Welcome to the Open Door
The Open Door Ministry operates three transitional housing facilities for men recovering from alcoholism and/or drug addiction. We currently provide a safe, sober and secure therapeutic home like environment for men in our three residential homes located in Toledo, Ohio.
At the time of entry our residents agree to support each other to maintain a sober, clean, non-threatening and non-addictive lifestyle. The residents of the Open Door prepare all their own food and are responsible to each other in their household duties. The Open Door provides residents with complete housing, hygienic needs, and clothing assistance. We advocate for our residents through on-site & off-site education, employment opportunities exposure, medical/legal referral, along with many other links to a variety of supportive community services.
The residents of the Open Door come by way of referral from community agencies, missions, re-hab clinics & hospitals, churches, established alumni and the legal system. Witnessing truthful humble recovering men grow as people in sobriety, with realized personal serenity, is a rewarding exercise that never fails to deliver gratitude at the deepest emotional levels available.
The Open Door operates with a, 100%- 0 –Tolerance Level, for the use of alcohol and/or drugs by it’s residents. Residents are expected and assisted to apply for appropriate financial assistance and are held responsible for their own expenses and support.
The Open Door Ministry, Inc., is approaching over 20+ years old as a 501C3 registered non-profit Ohio corporation. We provide a service unduplicated by any other agency or organization in the greater NW Ohio and SE Michigan area.
